The second effect of labelling is that you will realize your own irrationality. You might even want to say something like вI am afraid that the parachute does not open and I am going to die on this skydive even though I know that only one in every 220,304 jumps go wrong.в

Each year hundreds of thousands of tandems are made. Will you join them? If youвre ready to jump you can find a skydiving center near you in our database.

The typical jump height for tandem skydivers is between 10,000 and 14,000 ft. This will allow the tandem pair to freefall at around 30-60 seconds, depending on their combined weight. This is enough time for the jumpers to look around and appreciate the beautiful scenery below, and pose to the camera if they opted to get a photo or video coverage.

If there is one regret among first-time skydivers, itвs not choosing to record your experience. At every dropzone offering tandems, youвll find an option for videos and photos of your jump. While this is optional, we highly recommend purchasing photos and videos of your experience.

Safety is our top priority. In accordance with dropzone policy, as well as the United States Parachute Association and Federal Aviation Administration, we require all skydivers to meet strict criteria. See our Tandem Skydiving FAQs for more information.

Mr. Chisnov deserves a spot on this list based on the bravery that was required that led to his survival situation. Ivan Chisov was a Lieutenant in the Soviet airforce during World War II. During a combat sortie, Chisovвs bomber was attacked and heavily damaged by German fighter planes. At the time, Chisovвs bomber was flying at an altitude of 22,000+ feet. The extent of the damage to the bomber necessitated the crew members to exit the plane in a prompt fashion.
